The Lovely Miss. Press Launched her latest fashion collection/Dressing table range Wednesday night, the fashion and dressing table products were all displayed in a beautiful house looking over Sydney harbor, each room with an amazing instillation in which the models acted out glamorous characters, my new designs for Mrs. Press’s dressing table were part of the instillation, they consist of drawer liners, Hand cream and shower jell in Spice, Tea Rose and Magnolia (pictured above) I’m in love with the hand cream!!

Well Done Clare Press for an amazing show!!

This design was the starting point to Mrs. Press's latest collection, the look of this season was to be based on the 1930's seaside escape, with lovely flowing dresses that you can imagine Hollywood stars walking the decks of the cruise boats inn, looking ever so sophisticated and glamorous.

Magnolia Dress 2

This Dress was such a challenge to design for, it is made up with lots of triangle to make the bottom of the dress more full, when I first started to design for this dress I didn't know that the triangles existed, so when I found out about them I had to start all over again, oh well one should always learn from their mistakes :-)

Image 1 and 2 were the first designs that I showed Clare Press for her sweet silk dresses, we both loved the designs but they didn’t fit into the flower theme that we came up with after the designs were created, that was when I started to introduce the magnolia flower into the motif shown in image 3.

Image 4 is the cad version of “ Magnolia Dress 1” put into repeat and Image 5 is the end product, how cute does it look!!

The Party Dress

These beautiful images came from a book i found in New York, its called "The Party Dress", I bought it to inspire myself to design and create my own clothes, fingers crossed it works!!
The chapters within the book are for different dresses , for example the cocktail dress, the formal dress and the garden party dress.
I love all these dresses, I wish women of today could always dress up and look feminine without feeling out of place, for femininity can be quite powerful and alluring.

The Tea Rose design, funny enough, is a favourite of the boys - and it would have to be the most feminine!!
With its fine lines, this design has driven me crazy, getting them smooth and rounded drove me and Clare’s Graphic Designer bananas!!
But in the end I think it came out the best and also the nicest by far to smell ;-)

Warm Spice

Image 3

When it came to designing the Warm Spice packaging, I knew the motifs had to be more angular than Magnolia as it was to be the more masculine of the designs (not that soap is exactly masculine!).
I looked into different spices and thought that Star Anise could be interesting with its star like angles. I also love the shape of cloves, so using the same layout as the Magnolia design, I started to place the motifs in different areas until they were balanced and in sink with one another.
